Lutheran Campus Ministry

Rev. Scott Postlewait - Lutheran campus pastor
Welcome to the UW and to Campus Ministry! I've been the Lutheran (ELCA) Campus Pastor at the UW since March, 1997. It's a great place for the Church to be present, and for young adults to spend some time exploring what they believe and how faith fits into their lives. We're used to welcoming students who've grown up in the faith and students who have never been in Church before! Questions are welcome here -- from the basic to the complicated, it's all fair game! I'm available for pastoral counseling and for informal conversation. Some of my joys include spending time with my family, cycling, surfing, sailing, and skiing.

Keena Bean - peer minister
Hey Guys! My name is Keena Bean, and I'm a junior in Law, Societies, and Justice here at UW. I stay pretty busy by competing on UW's Mock Trial team, working, taking classes, and serving as a Peer Minister for Lutheran Campus Ministry. I began coming here in the fall of my freshman year, and I haven't missed many Wednesdays since. The calming service, good company, and overabundance of good food make Wednesday the best night of my week. hope to see you at UW Lutheran Campus Ministry!

Bradley Mortensen - peer minister
Hello, my name is Bradley Mortensen. I am a junior studying human centered design and engineering here at UW. Music is my passion and helps me expand my faith in the Lord each and every day. I have played drums for many years for Faith Lutheran Church in Shelton, WA, and currently play in a Christian metal-core band up in Seattle, staying active in up and coming Christian music. I am always down to jam or talk about how music helps me with my faith. I also love long boarding, any water sport, and staying active. UW Lutheran Campus Ministry has been a great opportunity for me to get to know like-minded students and stay connected to God through worship and fellowship

Rev. Zhencuan Liu - outreach with international students and scholars

Zhenchuan joined the staff at Lutheran Campus Ministry in Winter of 2009 as our Minister of Outreach for International Students and Scholars. He brings a wealth of experience and insight to this position, and a genuine sense of hospitality. Zhenchuan hosts the Tuesday afternoon English as a Second Language Classes, and the Thursday evening Talk Time - peers talking with peers to help with conversational English. Lots of plans are underway for field trips to the many sights around Seattle, as well as Bible Study and support groups for International students and scholars at the UW.

Episcopal Campus Ministry

Rev. Mary Shehane - Episcopal chaplain
Greetings and welcome from your Episcopal campus pastor here at the UW! I have been a deacon in the Episcopal Church since 1995. Before serving as campus chaplain I worked with street ministries and founded the Sanctuary Art Center in the U-District (an art center for homeless youths). I have been a campus chaplain for over seven years. It is a great joy to serve students, and I am honored to know every student I have met. I hope you will come and join us here at Crossroads Campus Ministry for friendship, worship, service opportunities, alternative spring break trips, and just plain fun.

Jordan Earls - peer minister

Hello! My name is Jordan and I'm a junior this year at the UW. I'm currently working towards majoring in business administration wtih a concentration in International Business and Finance. I enjoy running, dance, and reading. I found Campus Ministry my freshman year at UW and I'm so glad I did; having a place to go in the midst of the stress and chaos of college is a true blessing. I encourage everyone to join us Wednesday nights and hope all who come find what they are looking for.

Hayley Davidson - peer minister
My name is Hayley Davidson and I am a sophomore at UW studying environmental studies as well as aquatic and fishery sciences. I love living in Seattle and I love the Covenant House. I'm from a small and beautiful town called Anacortes, which was inspiration for me to follow an environmental path. I love to garden and have started learning to swing dance. I play clarinet, guitar, piano, ukulele and bass guitar and I also sing - so music is a pretty big part of my world. I know lots of fun facts about orca whales. Madrone trees are my favorite but I really like hemlock trees cause I think they look like droopy sad giants. I could not be more glad for finding Covenant House and the community that comes with it. It is a really wonderful group of people connected by faith and I wouldn't give it up for anything.
